I'm back :)

I can't believe it is nearly two months since I have posted anything!  It is sheer laziness on my part - that and the fact that my daughter introduced me to Tumblr and I have to confess that I have been spending far more time hitting the "reblog" button than being creative with my own posts.  

Yesterday I went through to Stanford for a tea party with my gorgeous friend Tracy and all her wonderful friends from the village.  It was pouring rain but her beautiful home was so cosy with a roaring fire and a feast that would have made Marie Antoinette proud!

We ♥ Downton Abbey

We have spent a great deal of this weekend glued to the TV watching Downton Abbey - we're completely hooked and I am already dreading coming to the end of it!  Apart from brilliant British film making, superb acting and a gripping storyline, I am drooling over the costumes!!

We're really getting Southern Hemisphere winter weather now - as I sit here the rain is belting down outside and both of my dogs are curled up at me feet - what bliss.  Emma is out building houses with her school friends for Habitat for Humanity and although they will be cold and wet I bet they are having such fun!

I have so many letters to reply to and write and of course the easiest is to just email everyone, but I know how special it is to receive a letter in the post so I feel I should be doing that rather.  Thinking of all my friends in other parts of the world makes me desperate to travel, but its just not going to be possible this year.  I will have to settle for some armchair travel!

I wish I could post myself to any one of these postboxes!  Have a lovely weekend, wherever you are and whatever you are doing xx

Back at last & Christian Louboutin's Fall Lookbook

I cannot believe it has been 20-days since I last posted on my blog!  The year has really taken off now - I don't know where time goes!  I also started a Tumblr account and it is so easy to just reblog gorgeous, inspirational pictures that I guess I have become a little lazy about doing a proper blog post.

I can't think of anything more inspirational and jaw-droppingly clever to get back to blogging about than the Christian Louboutin Fall Lookbook - a collaboration with photographer Peter Lipmann.  I think every fashion blogger out there is oggling over this one!

The Burning House

The Burning House is a blog that poses the question: 'If your house were burning down, what would you take with you?'.  People of all ages and from all over the world respond with photographs and lists and it is quite addictive once you start reading the blog.  Its a question we have all asked ourselves and the responses are so interesting and its fascinating reading the lists to find out why people select the things they do!  Well worth a visit - post your own list!

Matchbook

Matchbook is another one of those incredible online magazines that you wish you were part of!  Filled with pages of inspiration, fashion and fun, not to mention gorgeous photography.  If you haven't visited their website yet (they launched in January this year and already have their 4th online edition), then go and enjoy!  Just perfect for a rainy day like today.... x

See Emily Play

Emily is a Swedish freelance photographer studying fashion, media and communications.  Her blog is in Swedish and I have been laboriously copying and pasting into Google translate to read her posts, only to discover that she has links to posts with the English translation! She is gorgeous and so is her blog and her photographs!

If I could....

...... I would love to take a stroll through the streets of Paris to do a bit of window shopping!  That's just what I feel like doing this weekend - if I could...  After window shopping I would take in a bit of sightseeing, have a coffee and brioche in a street cafe, followed by a visit to some galleries.
My sister is off the France next month - a few days in Cannes for the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival (she keeps reminding me that this part of her trip is work!), then a week in Antibes before going to Paris - sigh, I am completely envious!

Coriander Girl

At the moment I am into anything and everything floral!  Which brings me to a blog I love to visit, Coriander Girl.  Alison is a florist with the most gorgeous shop in Toronto and I love her blog and the fact that she has a pet rabbit called Harry who features on her blog regularly - she has a beautiful website too.  My wonderful aunt has an equally beautiful florist shop right here in Cape Town - Fabulous Flowers. I will do a dedicated post for her beautiful floral designs soon!
