Friday Lovely stuff

Yay - it's Friday!  My girls have gone away for the weekend and I am going to the movies with my mum - we haven't done that together for far too long.
I hope you all have a super-duper weekend.  Here are a few lovely things...:

Jade Williams - AKA Sunday Girl.  I lover this cover of Tender.  She has done some other really great covers.

Blissful weekend

Time is doing that thing again - when it goes so fast you lose track of it - where did last week go?!  Fortunately the week ended in a gorgeous weekend with great company, divine food and incredible weather (note all the positive adjectives!) rounding off with our ritual Sunday evening cycle to the Wild Fig for sun-downers with a bunch of neighbours - heavenly.
Danie's teaching me to use all the features on his Canon 7D - this weekend was a lesson in aperture and depth of field so I had some fun experimenting.  I also did an update pic of Emma, Skye and Sarah.  The original 'fairy' pic was taken just over 10 years ago and it feels like just the other day.

 AND NOW

This and that Monday

Monday's come around so fast don't they?  Amazingly my week has not started at a running pace so I have a bit of time to do some blog browsing before it kicks in.  The weather is playing games with us - one day sunny and warm and ever so springy, and the next cold, wet and grey again.  Actually I don't mind so much - it means you get to enjoy the best of both climates.  Saturday was an outdoor braaivleis (barbeque) and rugby day and yesterday the fire moved indoors and it was a soup and DVD day.
We are now firmly hooked on the BBC sitcom Outnumbered.  Pete and Sue are South London suburban parents of three young children, Jake, Ben and Karen, and although it has a standard family sitcom set-up, there's a brilliant twist  -  the three children are not given a script.  Instead, they're given a very basic outline of a scene and told to improvise. The result is British comedy at its best as the children behave like real children and are the stars of a show.

Here are a few of the things I'm loving right now...

Lindsey Thornburg's short film that forms part of her 2011 collection campaign.  It follows two mischievous 'clowns' as they caper through the countryside.  The film was made in collaboration with photographer/director Olivia Malone and director/editor Crystal Moselle - watch it here

And, on a more personal note.... I love that Sarah isn't too old to look for tadpoles in puddles on the common, and the joy our two dogs get when they are let loose for a good run!

Gigi inspired fashion

I saved these pics from the internet last year sometime and came across them while trying to put some order in my folders - they remind me of the movie Gigi. I have been wanting to re-watch Gigi for a while but only have a copy on VHS and really need to get a dvd copy.  Its another of those classics and I love the clothes and even enjoy Gigi's awful petulance!  I adore the hat in the first picture.
